How To Do Tricks With Cards, by Bill Turner................



For a basic approach to sleights, gotta give it a thumbs up. It's hokey stuff, by many of our "standards", but......This book has many simple tricks, but it has the added bonus of performing tips and philosophy. I have to say that the "Next Big Thing" mentality gets us nowhere (a la Angel/Blaine), it's time to look back to our roots and make it something worthy of our generation, and this books shows how the technicality and the philosophy can merge to one and the same. It's one book I found without real instructions, besides the sleights, but it has a true sense of direction, even for the most blind of us. Most of us blindly clone our tricks with hardly a thought of how we make it our own, but this book has great tips for becoming a performer/artist vs. just some huckster........... Read the tips, ignore the tricks if you like, but I say to some extent, it's a must read.............
