Private Messaging! - We've implemented a private messaging system and you can now send a private message to another member. We would like to begin beta testing this new pm system so feel free to start using it.  There are two ways to send a private message. First, by clicking on the "send message" icon under the members avatar in the forums. The second way is to click the "send message" icon in the control bar of a member's profile.

New Home Page Design - The home page has been redesigned. I tried to make it a little more organized and personal, as well as, changed the look slightly. The rest of the site will start taking on the new look within the next few days. I hope you like it.

Feedback - I value your opinion. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts on the pm system, the new home page or anything else about the site by making a post in the forums or using the feedback form on the "Contact" page.

Last night I had a chance to see Nick, a magic friend of mine, perform at Rogue's in Elmhurst, Queens NY for their weekly Saturday night magic show. In case you are wondering, yes, it's the same Nick who moderates here on our forums.

Nick and I have done street magic in Times Square before and we've sessioned a few times in magic shops like Fantasma and such but this was the first time I've seen him perform in front of an audience of about 25-30 people. All I can say is that I was extremely impressed with his performance last night. While doing a fork bending routine his volunteer actually let out a "What the F * * *?". That moment was priceless. Needless to say , I had a great time and look forward to watching Nick as he progresses his way to the top.

A private messaging system looks like it may be ready in about 3 months according to one of the vendors. That's a bummer because I really want that to happen as soon as possible.

In the mean time, I am in the process of upgrading some of the components of the website. I have already applied some minor upgrades to the forums and profile components. I stil have to implement an upgrade to the core application that runs the site.

Also working on redesigning the home page. You may have noticed the new logo too. I hope you like it. There is more to come. I've been looking closely at a few things. In particular, a chat system and a classified ads system. These could be available by the end of the year.

We've got some forum moderators; DanteAmor, Eagle, Night, Black Mage, Nick and Magic Related. Thanks for helping out guys. Next up are profile moderators. I've already reached out to some members and I'm looking to start this within a week or two. Let me know If you want to volunteer to be a Profile Moderator.

First. Welcome to all the new members. Thanks for joining us, we are glad to have you here.

Here are some things that I am working on for the site.

A private messaging system. I've narrowed my searchh down to two vendors. Neither one has the search feature that I must have. One of them said they will have have that feature soon. When they come through on that claim I will implement private messaging on the site.

During my search for a private messaging system I ran across some chat systems. Although a chat system is not high on my priority list, if an opportunity presents itself, I will implement a chat system sooner.

I'm hoping to implement a "view my profile" page so you can see what your profile looks like without all the editing tools.

A frappr page is in the works. That is a page whee you can enter where you are located and it gets plotted onto a map of the world. That way you will be able to tell if you have any magician friends nearby.

Moderators. I do need someone to keep an eye on the forums for me so that I can work on improving the  site. I hope to have one or two forum moderators by the end of the week. Besides forum moderators we may also ask for volunteers to act as profile moderators. Profile moderators will be responsible for making sure profiles are free of exposure videos,  profanity, spam. etc. Let me know if  this is something you would be interested in doing. Until then you can always report a profile using the "report profile" icon on the offending persons profile bar.

I am so excited because today is the official grand opening of mymagiczone.com!

My goal for mymagiczone.com is to become a successful on line community of magicians and magic lovers. In short, a place that you will enjoy coming to again and again. A place where you can meet other magicians, share stories and experiences, and improve your magic knowledge and skills.

For my opening act I present a discussion forum for you to interact with your fellow magicians and magic lovers. There are just a few magic categories in the forums to start with. I did this on purpose so that the forums can grow in the direction that its members take it. Please stop by, if you get a chance, and introduce yourself. We'd love to hear from you.

Also, as a member of the mymagiczone.com community you will have the ability to create your very own on line profile. Where you can tell us about yourself and perhaps your accomplishments as a magician. You can post some pictures, start your very own blog. You can browse other members' profiles, leave comments and add them to your friends list. 

We plan on offering some more features in the future. Some of which are being worked on right now.
