No, it's not dead. But, sometimes any site goes a little dormant. Speaking strictly for me, I have a lot on my plate,and 9/10 of it nothing to do with magic. It's just a thing that happens from time to time. I could give you a horror story if you wanted to know what's going on in my life right now.

| Rumours of My Magic Zone's death are greatly exaggerated! When I read Kevin's comment my first reaction was "Don't just complain man, write something yourself!" And I agree with Janos, to some extent. I too have a very busy life, and I'm sure that's true of most of us. But the forum has over three hundred members! I know not all off that number are current or active members, but even so, I think Kevin has a point. Yes I am busy, and I have my stresses, both family and work. But magic is my release. Most evenings I log on to the Zone before I switch the computer off, and I am often disappointed if there is nothing new. SO COME ON YOU GUYS, YOU MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY - BREATH SOME MAGIC BACK INTO THIS ZONE! - Oh, by the way Kevin, you're not off the hook... Start a couple of threads of yourself (I will). You've posted some great videos, so you are obviously passionate about magic. Let's hear about it! |

OK, here's the long and short of it. My house was foreclosed on in January. Yes, I joined the thousands. I'm moving in the next week or so, did a show last Tuesday, and working on some new stuff. New stuff meaning something I hope NO ONE has seen before. One I have in developement will combine a Stigmata-like effect with Angel's Voodoo Doll bit, but sicker. (could use a little input, from some geek magic types, see my stage blood post, you'll get full creative credit for your help) I just posted a new video, hope you guys like it. Have to start packing too. Got my hours at work bumped up, and the wife is hopefully starting a new job soon. I did get a house for rent, so need to get settled etc.............. My nephew did a trick on stage with me for the show mentioned. It was for a Boy Scout Jamboree, the theme for the night was magic. I did the dialog, as he learned the trick for 10 min., but he pulled it off without a hitch. I was very proud. Filmed some i-net tv footage, and some for a USA wide public access show. Some of the footage is already up here. The Invisible Palm and We 4 Kings are just a couple I shot. More may be coming soon.

I've created this site not as an outlet for me to voice my own thoughts on magic but as a place for all magicians to do so . We have profile pages with blogs, a forum, and videos page. Each of these are available for all members to freely use to promote themselves or simply express how they feel about magic.
Is mymagiczone.com dead NO. Can it be better? Perhaps.
Please let me know if there is anything more that I can do to make mymagiczone.com the place where all magicians can get together as a online community. I welcome all suggestions. But keep in mind, I can supply the tools but I cannot make anyone use them.
You may have noticed that I recently added a new section to the site called "Reviews". This is a section where members will be able to write a review about some of the magic products that are out there. This will be an ongoing project and may take a while before every popular product is listed so, in the mean time, if you wish to see a cetain product listed in the review section, just let me know in the forums and I'll add it.
Would you like to be let in on a little secret? Although, on the suface, there seems to be little activity on this site, we get many visitors everyday that come to read what YOU have written and view the videos that YOU have posted.
In closing, I would like to thank everyone that has activley participated in this site because, without you, there would be no mymagiczone.com.

Oh I totally understand, Ray. Just wanted to show that sometimes things die down. Whether for lack of new stuff, too busy, or any other reason. For me it was the way busy thing. I'm a member on several magic groups on myspace as how that is how I got here. And in other settings.

This is just my personal opinion, but it seems to me like this place is becoming more of a video hosting site for magic than an actual forum. Not that I really know this is true; that's just hwo things look st first glance
I admit, I'm guilty of not posting much, because I'm of the belief anything I post has already been discussed elsewhere a thousand times over. Perhaps I need to challenge this belief though... |

I would tend to agree with Cardin. Based on recent activity, there has been more video input. I myself like the videos for two reasons. Firstly, I like watching magic, and we can always learn something from other magician's performances, even if we know the trick. The Zone is a good place to see videos of good performances in the certain knowledge that every other video will NOT be some kid's shoddy performance - just so they can reveal the secret (my pet hate!). But the second, and more important reason, I like the videos because they put a face, and a personality, to the names on the forum. Recent video postings from Janos and Flash, are a good example of this. Kevin, who started this thread, has put some great videos on. As I mentioned earlier, I would like to hear more from him in the forum (still waiting Kevin!). But I do think, first and foremost, the Zone should be a forum, and that is why my earlier post called out for more postings (not meant as a criticism, just encouragement). The Chatroom idea might be good for some. Personally, I like the forum format, because I can read/reply at a time convenient to me. |

maybe video posting on the forums would incite more forum activity.
like a section in the forums for people to post vids. peeps can critique performances ia forums. but the profiles is where it's happening more often. Also some of us actually lurk around. Even though i rarely post lately due to lack of anything new to say. I'm still here.
