the ones i saw were mostly all comic magicians and typical stage performers, meaning they did the cliche stage magic tricks, nothing spectacular

Yea I haven't really kept up with the show this year. I only saw one magician but he did really well.

My friend Rick Maisel was on the show, escaping from a washing machine. Later this year, he's doing an upside down straitjacket escape over the Grand Canyon.
