I dont know if you guys have heard of this but it is NBC's competition to find the worlds best new mentalist. it will be judged and hosted by Uri Geller and Chris Angel it will feature contestants like Yigal Mesika, Ehud Sege, and i believe Wayne Hoffman along with others.
this is my two cents.
I personally am appauled at the fact that they chose Geller and Angel to host and judge. i am more suprised that Mesika even agreed to do the show. i understand that Geller is famous for his mentalist routines but that was like 15 years ago when it comes to american tv, and he was made a fool of on on the Tonight show with Johnny Carson. im not knocking his abilities as a magician or showman but if anyone knows about his tonight show situation its easy to realize that he made a really bad move by even agreeing to do the show under the circumstances that he was presented with. and more recently most of his shows have taken place in the middle east so in my opinion when it comes to the american public(not magicians) he kind of fell off the map. i dont understand why NBC would try to bring back a guy from the 80's, most of the people that enjoy magic today will probably not rememeber him to well. as for angel i can see why they chose him. he is famous and i undestand that but this brings up my next point. why did Yigal Mesika agree to let Angel judge him. Mesika is a succesfull magician as well as product inovator he has no need to put him in a position that makes it look like Angel is more qaulified to tell him what is good and what isn't In my opinion Angel is a good magician but not as accomplished in the magic world as Mesika is only because Mesika has brought forth many of the products we use today like loops and electric touch. when it comes to popularity angel is more famous hands down but why would mesika want to put himself in that position?

I haven't heard about this show. I agree that there is quite an interesting mix of magicians past and present. I'm not an entertainment lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, but I would think that A&E would have somne sort of clause about Criss doing shows on another channel. But that is nothing that a little negotiation can't solve. |

| if you didnt catch it last night it was a total bust at least in my opinion. the acts were sub-par and Angel was a total jerk. he even started to name the effects done, in my opinion not a good move. i kinda felt bad for some people cause there act were acts that you would see at any mentalism show and the crowd loved it then angel and gellar were like "oh yeah that sucked it wasnt that amazing" it seems like nbc needs to explain to the judges that they need to tone it down a bit so they wont ruin it for the audience. |

i agree it was a disater. some of the acts were pretty good. angel in my opinion, when he would judge someone he would make is seem like "yeah you did the PK touch routine i party w/ the guy who invented that bannachek and iwas ok i could do it better" that is what i got from angel, but i do appluad him for being honest. uri geller is like the puala abdul of the show, being like oh it was good, and i was blown away. however, i don't like how they only show like 2 or 3 acts a night and then the next week people get voted off, when only half of the contestants have gone. i dont know the whole show is kind of scetch to me but i know i will end up watching it anyways. i hope yeigal wins!!! |

I agree that they should let all the contestants perform first before anyone gets voted off. I'm also concerned that Ross the celebrity guest is stealing the show. (LOL) |

Well. I guess congratulations are in order for Mike Super on winning the competition. Overall I thought it was a good show and good for magic and mentalism in particular. |
